Police lay arson charges, Maleny

Police have charged a 30-year-old man following investigations into an alleged historical arson in Maleny last year.

Police will allege on March 18, 2020 the man attended a Landsborough Road address and deliberately lit a fire that destroyed the home and seriously injured the man.

A woman and child, who are known to the man, escaped uninjured.

Investigations were delayed due to the man's medical condition.

The man was yesterday charged with arson and contravention of a domestic violence order and is due to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court March 17.
