Police Lay Arson Charges, Yeppoon

Police have charged a 33-year-old woman with no fixed address following investigations into three fires in the Yeppoon area yesterday morning, 7 March.

About 3.15am, emergency services were called to Normanby Street following reports of a business on fire.

At 3:45am, emergency services were called to a further fire at a business on Cliff Street.

At 4:36am, emergency services were called to a third fire at John Street.

All fires were able to be put out a short time later after they were reported to emergency services.

The 33-year-old woman has been charged with seven counts of wilful damage , two counts of arson , one count of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, one count of attempted stealing, and one count of endangering particular property by fire.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on 9 March.
