Police Lay Assault Charges At Logan Central

Police have charged a man after he allegedly threatened people with a knife at a Logan Central shopping centre this morning, 21 September.

It will be alleged at 10.40am the man entered a Wembley Road shopping centre and threatened a number of people with a knife.

The man then fled the centre and was followed by security officers and members of the public.

Police located and arrested the man at the corner of Ellen Street and Kingston Road at 10.54am.

The 22-year-old Redbank Plains man has been charged with 12 offences including four counts of common assault in a public place while adversely affected by intoxicating substance, two counts of threats and one count of going armed to cause fear.

He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday, 22 September.
