Police lay charges after assault at Auburn

A man will face court today charged following an alleged assault in Sydney's west overnight.

About 11pm (Saturday 16 April 2023), officers from Auburn Police Area Command were called to Queen Street, Auburn, following reports a 38-year-old man had been assaulted by two men.

He was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced into circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with affray, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 16 April 2023).

Inquiries are continuing.
