Police lay charges after double fatality in Kingston

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a double fatality in Kingston yesterday (29 December).

A truck and car collided at the intersection of Kingston Road and Church Parade about 12.20pm.

Two of the passengers died at the scene, a 37-year-old woman and 5-year-old boy, both from Epsom.

The two other occupants of the car were taken to hospital, a 37-year-old Epsom man with non-life-threatening injuries and a 9-year-old Epsom boy in a critical condition.

The 9-year-old boy remains in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the truck, a 59-year-old West Australian man was uninjured.

He has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving cause death and has been remanded to appear in the Ballarat Magistrates' Court later today.
