Police lay charges after fatal collision in Woodend

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a driver following a fatal collision in Woodend on 9 October.

It's alleged a collision between a cyclist and a car occurred on Black Forrest Drive about 11.50am.

The female driver remained at the scene and assisted investigators with their enquiries.

The 75-year-old cyclist, a Gisborne man, was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Fern Hill woman, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

She has been bailed to appear in Bendigo Magistrates' Court on 14 October.
