Police lay charges after Hoppers Crossing explosion

Detectives from Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following a number of explosions in Hoppers Crossing yesterday.

Investigators were called to reports of explosions in parklands on Golden Square Crescent between 2.25pm and 4.15pm.

Upon arriving at the scene, police identified that a home-made explosive device had allegedly been detonated.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Hoppers Crossing man at the scene a short time later.

He was charged with conduct endangering and explosive offences and was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrate's Court today.
