Police Lay Charges After Keg Thefts

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three people as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of keg thefts across Melbourne.

Police executed search warrants at a property on Phillip Street in Dallas on Friday, 23 February where around 60 kegs were located.

Further search warrants were executed at properties in Oak Park and Epping.

Investigators conducted a number of inspections of metal recycling facilities across Melbourne where it's alleged many kegs may have been sold to.

A 34-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with handle stolen goods and possess proceeds of crime and has been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 2 August.

A 49-year-old Oak Park woman has been charged with one count of theft and has been bailed to appear in Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 8 August.

A 32-year-old Epping man has been charged with one count of theft and one count of trespass and has been bailed to appear in Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 8 August.

The charges are part of an extensive investigation, after a significant quantity of empty kegs were allegedly stolen from premises across Melbourne's inner suburbs over the past five months.
