Police lay charges after pursuit in Corio

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a crash during a pursuit in Corio on 7 February.

It is alleged police saw a car driving erratically in Norlane just before midnight and attempted to intercept the vehicle.

The car crashed into a tree.

The three occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators have since charged a 24-year-old Norlane Man with dangerous driving causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving while pursued by police and other traffic offences.

He has appeared before court and was remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 6 June.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Professional Standards Command have oversight of the investigation as per normal procedure.
