Police lay charges after sexual assault on bus in Hoppers Crossing

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenager following a sexual assault on a bus in Hoppers Crossing last month.

The 15-year-old Tarneit boy has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

The charges follow an incident on a bus on Sunday 11 September where a male sat next to a 15-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her about 7.15pm.

Following an appeal for information by police about the incident the teen attended a police station with a family member on Tuesday evening.

The teenager has been bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.
