Police Lay Charges After Six Firearms Seized At Albury

Police have charged a man with firearm offences in the state's south.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District executed a search warrant in Schaefar Street, Lavington, about 11.45am yesterday (Friday 2 May 2025), as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police seized six firearms, including one allegedly under hidden under a bed.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Albury Police Station where he was charged with six offences,

• Possess unauthorised firearm (two counts)

• Acquire firearm – no licence (two counts)

• Acquire ammunition for firearm without licence, and

• Possess ammunition without a licence.

He has been refused bail to appear via AVL in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 3 May 2025).
