Police lay charges after wanted man arrested at Bourke

A man wanted on outstanding warrants at Bourke has been charged.

Officers from Central North Police District have been conducting inquiries to locate a 37-year-old man wanted on four outstanding warrants.

Following inquiries, police attended a home on Richard Street, Bourke, about 2.30am today (Friday 2 June 2023), to speak to a man.

Upon arrival, the man ran from the home, and following a short foot pursuit the man was found hiding in a bush.

He was arrested and taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with four outstanding arrest warrants for domestic violence-related offences and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.

The man was refused bail to appear via audio video link at Dubbo Local Court today (Friday 2 June 2023).
