Police lay charges after Yarraville burglary

Detectives from Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following an alleged burglary in Yarraville last month.

It is believed an offender gained entry to an apartment building's secure car park on Gamon Street on 5 August.

Once inside, it's alleged the offender broke into a number of storage cages stealing a large amount of property.

Detectives executed search warrants on 11 September at a residence in Williamstown and a business in Altona North.

A 37-year-old Williamstown man was arrested and interviewed by police.

He has since been charged with Burglary, Theft and Criminal damage, and remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 1 October.
