Police lay charges - Aggravated assault in Darwin 3 December

Northern Territory Police have charged two people in relation to an assault in Nakara earlier this year.

At around 5:30pm on 15 October, it is alleged a 36-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were involved in an altercation with a group of youths at Johnson Park, before arming themselves with weapons and assaulting two people from the group.

It will be further alleged the pair stole a number of items from the group before fleeing the area.

The man and woman were arrested at a home in Nakara by Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad yesterday morning. The two were charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault and have been bailed to appear before the Darwin Local Court on 14 December, 2021.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said, "Investigations into this incident are ongoing and police urge anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour to immediately make contact on 131 444 or in an emergency to call 000."
