Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Casuarina last week.

At around 6:30am on 10 October 2021, two males aged 13 and 14 allegedly attended a restaurant on Bradshaw Terrace. The pair have allegedly caused a disturbance inside the venue, when the 14-year-old allegedly threatened staff with an edged weapon before stealing a quantity of cash.

Strike Force Trident detectives arrested the 14-year-old yesterday in relation to the robbery as well as another incident on 4 October 2021, where he allegedly caused damage to a vehicle and stole a number of small items within.

He was charged with:

  • 1 x Aggravated robbery
  • 3 x Assault worker
  • 3 x Damage to property
  • 2 x Trespass
  • 2 x Stealing
  • 1 x Assault

He was remanded to appear in court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, "Investigations into both incidents are on-going and police would like urge the public that if you see any sort of suspicious or violent behaviour please call 131 444 or 000 if it is an emergency."
