Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged 3 youths in relation to an aggravated robbery in Alice Springs on Friday.

At 3:15pm, police received reports that 3 female youths allegedly entered a business on Gregory Terrace, assaulted a female employee and stole a quantity of cash and a number of small items. The victim received minor injuries and did not require treatment.

At 5:25pm, members from Operation Drina located all three youths on Sadadeen Road, where they were arrested after a short foot pursuit.

A 17-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery

Two females, aged 14 and 15, were charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Posses schedule 2 drug (less than traffickable amount)

All three were bailed to appear in court today.

Detective Superintendent Michael Schumacher said "CCTV operators immediately began tracking the offenders, who were quickly apprehended by nearby Operation Drina officers.

"We continue to urge anyone who witnesses crime or anti-social behaviour in Alice Springs to make contact on 131 444 or in an emergency call Triple Zero.
