Police lay charges - Assault and Stealing- Wagaman

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to an assault and stealing at a suburban shop in Darwin's northern suburbs.

Around 11:40am yesterday, the shopkeeper recognised four youths in her shop and requested they leave the premises. On refusal, they began to intimidate the victim, then allegedly stole tobacco and liquor.

Police quickly located the alleged offenders a short time later at another shopping centre in Casuarina and took them into custody.

Three of the youths were released to be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Strike Force Trident detectives charged a 13-year-old female with:

  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Damage to property
  • 1 x Assault worker
  • 1 x Disorderly behaviour in public place

She was bailed to appear Monday 30 August.
