Police Lay Charges - Domestic Violence At Tennant Creek 19 January

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 25-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Tennant Creek over the weekend.

Police will alleged that on Saturday, an altercation occurred between the 25-year-old and her 28-year-old male partner at a residence on Weaber Road. The woman allegedly struck the 28-year-old with a blunt weapon before lighting a nearby red Holden Commodore on fire.

Police attended the scene and arrested the 25-year-old, who has since been charged with:

  • Arson
  • Aggravated assault
  • Drive unlicenced
  • Drive unregistered motor vehicle
  • Drive uninsured motor vehicle

She was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 21 January 2026.

The 28-year-old was also arrested and charged with breaching a DVO.
