Police lay charges over attempted ATM break-in - Strathfield

A man will face court later today charged over the attempted theft from an ATM at Strathfield.

About 3.30am today (Friday 17 July 2020), a man went to building within an educational faculty in Barker Road, Strathfield, where it will be alleged in Court that he attempted to gain entry to an ATM.

Police from Auburn Police Area Command were alerted and noticed a door to the building had been damaged.

A crime scene was established and police arrested the man inside the building.

The 45-year-old man has been charged with break and enter with intent to commit a serious indictable offence, possess safebreaking implements, and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
