Police lay charges over break-in, assault - Glenfield

A man has been charged over an alleged break-in, which saw another man hospitalised, in Sydney's south-west.

Just before 8pm on Thursday (16 March 2023), emergency services were called to a home Britannia Drive, Glenfield, following reports of an alleged break and enter.

Police will allege a man broke into the property and, while inside, struck an 18-year-old man in the head with a tomahawk.

The other occupants inside the house – two women, aged 53 and 29 – were not injured.

The 18-year-old man was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at a home in Bristol Circuit, Blacktown, about 8.45am today (Saturday 18 March 2023).

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent while armed, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Potts Hill man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 19 March 2023).
