Police lay charges over drug offences at AUSTRALIND

Gang Crime Squad detectives have charged a 47-year-old man in relation to a number of drug offences following the search of a property in the South West District.

About 11.20am on Tuesday 16 May 2023, members of the Gang Crime squad executed a search warrant at an address on Leschenault Parade in Australind.

Upon entry, police located the accused – a senior patched member of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang – in the rear yard of the property where he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

During a search of the property, police allegedly seized quantities of various steroids, methylamphetamine and unprescribed prescription medication.

The 47-year-old Australind man has been charged with:

6 x Possessed a Prohibited Drug

5 x Unlawfully possessed a Controlled or Prescription Drug

1 x Possession of a Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell or Supply (Methylamphetamine)

He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court on 8 June 2023.
