Police lay charges over drug offences in Darwin 25 February

Northern Territory Police have charged two men for drug offences in Darwin yesterday.

Detectives from the Drug and Organised Crime Division seized approximately half a kilogram of methamphetamine and over $100'000 in cash from a vehicle in Berrimah.

Two males, aged 34 and 37, were arrested and have both been charged with:

  • Supplying a commercial quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug
  • Possess tainted property

Both were refused police bail and will appear in court at a later date.

Detective Senior Sergeant Trent Abbott said, "Illicit substances, especially methamphetamine, cause substantial damage to the wider community.

"The Drug and Organised Crime Division will continue to remove it from the streets and take all action to disrupt organised crime."
