Police lay charges over property offences in Darwin 2 October

Detectives from Strike Force Trident have charged two youths for property offences following alleged unlawful entries at a Darwin business.

On 14 and 20 September, the youths entered the building and used keys inside to take a vehicle on each date. The youths allegedly forced open a gun safe and stole a rifle. Both vehicles and the rifle have been recovered.

On Wednesday 30 September, Strike Force Trident Detectives attended a residence and arrested a 15-year-old male.

He has been charged with:

  • 2x unlawful entry
  • 2x unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • 2x stealing
  • 2x damage to property
  • 1x possess firearm unlicensed.

On Thursday 1 October, Strike Force Trident detectives attended a residence and arrested a 15-year-old male.

He has been charged with:

  • 2x unlawful entry
  • 2x unlawful use motor vehicle
  • 2x stealing
  • 2x damage property
  • 1x possess firearm unlicensed
  • 1 breach bail.

Both youths will appear in court at a later date.
