Police lay charges over property offences in Darwin

Strike Force Trident investigators have arrested and charged a 31-year-old male for property offences.

Police allege the male gained entry to a number of storage lockers and vehicles sometime between Monday, 11 November and Thursday, 12 December 2019. He is believed to have stolen multiple items including a large quantity of alcohol and a men's wrist watch.

Police investigations located the man near a residential premises on Smith Street around 2:00pm on Thursday, 19 December. The attempted to run from police but was apprehended a short time after. A subsequent search of the man's Stuart Park residence located a quantity of the stolen property.

The male was charged with:

  • 2x Unlawful entry - building
  • 2x Stealing
  • 1x Trespass on premises

He is due to appear in Darwin Local Curt on 14 January 2020.
