Police lay charges over property offences - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 30-year-old man for alleged property offences.

On the evening of 24 March 2020, the man allegedly entered a vehicle at a residence in Leanyer and stole property valued at $3,390. Included in the property was the victim's bank card which was used to make four purchases at four separate locations, totalling $153.50.

Strike Force Trident officers conducted investigations and identified the man. He was located and arrested by Palmerston general duty officers yesterday.

The man has been charged with:

  • obtain benefit by deception x4
  • possess stolen property x1
  • drive motor vehicle whilst unlicensed x1.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court via video link today.
