Police lay charges over unlawful entry in Darwin 17 August

Northern Territory Police have charged four men in relation to an unlawful entry at a commercial business at East Point last night.

At around 1:20am, Police received a report that the business had been broken into with the offenders allegedly stealing a quantity of alcohol before fleeing the scene on foot.

The four men were arrested nearby a short time later. Strike Force Trident detectives reviewed CCTV and identified that the men were also in breach of the Emergency Declaration. They have since been charged with the following:

31-year-old male:

  • 1 x Contravention of emergency declaration
  • 1 x Unlawful entry - Building
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Damage to property

He was bailed to face Darwin Local Court on 25 September 2021.

33-year-old male:

  • 1 x Contravention of emergency declaration
  • 1 x Unlawful entry - building
  • 1 x Stealing

He was also found to have four outstanding warrants and has been remanded to face Darwin Local Court at a later date.

44-year-old male:

  • 1 x Contravention of emergency declaration
  • 1 x Unlawful entry - building
  • 1 x Stealing

He was bailed to face Darwin Local Court on 21 September 2021.

58-year-old male:

  • 1 x Contravention of emergency declaration
  • 1 x Unlawful entry - building
  • 1 x Stealing

He was bailed to face Darwin Local Court on 21 September 2021.
