Police lay charges - Possession of child abuse material - Nightcliff

Detectives from the Northern Territory Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) have charged a 37-year-old man for possession of child abuse material.

Police executed a warrant on the man's Nightcliff residence on 31 January 2020. Child abuse material along with a replica firearm was located during the search. The man was charged with of possession of child abuse material and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man was remanded to appear in the Darwin Local Court today.

JACET is a joint agency taskforce between the Australian Federal Police and the Northern Territory Police Force working together to combat child exploitation.

"The Northern Territory Police and the Australian Federal Police will continue to work in partnership to seek out and prosecute those who participate in the exploitation of children," said Detective Sergeant Paul Lawson.
