Police Lay Charges - Sexual Assault In Darwin 28 March

Northern Territory Police have charged a man after an alleged sexual assault in Darwin earlier this week.

Around 5pm on Monday 25 March 2024, police received reports of a sexual assault on an adult female at a park in Parap. Police attended the scene and arrested a 48-year-old man.

Detectives from Strike Force Lyra have since charged the man with Aggravated assault and Sexual intercourse without consent.

He was further remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 15 May 2024.

At this stage it is believed that the offender and victim were not known to each other.
