Police lay charges - Sexual assault in Darwin 29 September

Northern Territory Police have charged a man after an alleged sexual assault in Darwin yesterday.

Around 2:20pm, police received a report that a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in the vicinity of the Darwin Bus Exchange.

Police deployed to the area and a crime scene was established.

At 6pm, a 24-year-old man was arrested in Casuarina and currently remains in custody.

Detectives have now charged him with one count of sexual intercourse without consent.

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on Monday 2 October 2023.
