Detectives from Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man after a series of incidents in Dandenong on Sunday (24 August).
It is alleged a man gained entry to an apartment on Stud Road about 3.45pm and attempted to steal property and assaulted a female occupant.
The man took off on foot on police arrival and entered a number of properties in nearby streets before he was located hiding in a bedroom of a house on Clements Street.
The man is alleged to have assaulted a police officer whilst resisting arrest.
The 24-year-old has been charged with aggravated burglary, burglary, theft, indictable assault police and assault.
The Dandenong man has been remanded to appear in Dandenong Magistrates' Court on 9 September.
