Police make arrest after BMW stolen at Linden Park, South Australia

A man has been arrested after crashing a stolen car at Linden Park this morning.

Just after 3.30am on Tuesday 4 February, a witness reported seeing a group of people arrive at a Linden Park business on Devereux Road in a white Toyota Prado. Several members of the group then stole a green BMW from the premises and both vehicles were last seen heading north on Portrush Road.

Eastern District patrols spotted both vehicles on Portrush Road and engaged in a short pursuit with the BMW but lost sight of the car on Glen Osmond Road.

A short time later a member of the public reported seeing a BMW rolling down Grant Avenue at Toorak Gardens and collide with a stationary vehicle.

Patrols attended quickly and with the assistance of PD Nero located the suspect in the front yard of a nearby house. A 17-year-old youth from Hillcrest, was arrested without incident and charged with illegal use and driving offences.

The Toyota Prado, stolen from Stephens Place in Adelaide on 5 January, is still outstanding. The vehicle was last seen heading north on Marion Road at Park Holme.
