Police make arrest after hooning in Southeast Melbourne

Police have arrested a teenage boy in relation to alleged hooning activity in Springvale on 17 January.

Police received multiple calls that up to 400 vehicles were congregating in a car park near the corner of Smith Road and the Princes Highway at Springvale about 10.30pm.

Five vehicles were impounded, and a number of drivers were processed for offences including driving while disqualified, exceed prescribed concentration of alcohol, and failure to obey red light.

Today the SD3 Divisional Response Unit executed a search warrant in Bayswater North and arrested a 17-year-old boy.

He is currently being interviewed in relation to conduct endangering life.

Investigators are also seeking to identify the driver of a silver sedan that was travelling south east on Princes Highway over Browns Road about 11.30pm.

The investigation into the incidents are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Victoria police will not tolerate hooning and reckless behaviour on the roads.
