Police make arrest after West Footscray firearms incident

Detectives from Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man in relation to a firearms incident in West Footscray in May.

It's alleged a man and woman drove into the underground car park of an apartment complex on Roberts Road about 8.50pm on 16 May.

A man who was on foot followed the vehicle into the car park, allegedly produced a handgun and threatened the occupants of the car.

A 27-year-old man from West Footscray and a 24-year-old woman from West Footscray were not injured in the incident.

A 38-year-old Thornhill Park man has been charged with 14 offences including reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person carry a firearm, assault with a weapon and theft of motor vehicle.

He has been remanded to appear in Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 28 July.
