Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault In Darwin 13 May

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Darwin City on Friday night.

Around 10:45pm, police received reports of an incident occurring at a licenced premises on Smith Street. Two men, believed to be known to each other, engaged in a dispute which resulted in one man allegedly assaulting the other with a bottle.

The man was escorted from the premises and subsequently fled the scene on foot.

A short time later, police located and arrested a 28-year-old man who was charged with offences and bailed to appear in court at a later date.

The victim suffered lacerations to his neck and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital to received treatment for the injuries.

Detectives urge anyone who witnessed the incident to make contact on 131 444.
