Police Make Arrest - Bertram Bushfire

Investigators from Strike Force Vulcan have charged a man after he allegedly set fire to bushland in Bertram on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.

It will be alleged about 10.35am, the man set three fires in bushland north of Price Parkway, near Hero Crescent. Flames from these fires engulfed grass, bushes, trees, and other nearby vegetation.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) attended and extinguished the fire before they could spread to nearby homes.

The 43-year-old man from Bertram has been charged with 'Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage'. This offence carries a maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment.

He is due to appear before the Rockingham Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.
