Police make arrest - Child sex offences at Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to child sex and drug related offences in Tennant Creek.

On 18 September 2021, a 23-year-old man allegedly sent an unsolicited sexual photograph to a 15-year-old female.

Tennant Creek Criminal Investigation Branch detectives seized the man's phone on the 27 September and found evidence of drug supply across the Tennant Creek region.

A search at the man's address found a quantity of cannabis and money.

The man is expected to be charged with:

  • Indecent dealing with a child under 16 years
  • Supply commercial schedule two drug
  • Possess tainted property

He was remanded to appear in Tennant Creek Local Court today.

Detective Sergeant Marek Hutchinson-Goncz said, "Sexual offences such as this are taken incredibly seriously. The fact that this man has also been allegedly supplying illicit substances into the wider community is reprehensible. His actions have caused long lasting damage and he will face court for it."
