Police make arrest - Criminal offences in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 17-year-old female in relation to multiple criminal offences in Katherine and the Greater Darwin Region.

On 1 February it is alleged the youth unlawfully entered a residential property in Katherine where she stole various items including a car. The vehicle was later recovered abandoned in Katherine.

It is alleged the female was involved in multiple unlawful entries of residential properties across Marrara and the theft of a vehicle last week.

CCTV footage from a store in Mitchell Street captured the youth allegedly using a stolen credit card to purchase goods on 14 February, and again later at a service station in Palmerston.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident located and arrested the 17-year-old on Monday and transported her to Palmerston Watch House where she was charged with:

  • unlawful entry dwelling
  • stealing
  • aggravated unlawful use motor vehicle
  • criminal deception x 5
  • possess stolen property x 2

She was remanded in custody to appear in court on Wednesday 17 February.
