Police make arrest - Death - Mcdonnell Region

Northern Territory Police have arrested an 18-year-old man following the death of a 19-year-old man in Central Australia yesterday.

Police responded to reports of an aggravated assault yesterday morning. It is alleged that the two men were engaged in a physical altercation when the 18-year-old man assaulted the victim with an edged weapon.

The victim suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

Detectives from the Southern Criminal Investigation Branch travelled to the remote community yesterday to investigate the incident.

The 18-year-old man was arrested after surrendering himself to police and is in custody. Investigations are ongoing
