Police make arrest – Hit and run in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a hit and run in Darwin City this morning.

At around 4am, police received reports that a woman had been struck by a Toyota Yaris traveling inbound on Tiger Brennan Drive near McMinn Street.

She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition.

The vehicle was located on The Esplanade shortly after and a 27-year-old male was taken into custody.

Detective Senior Sergeant Corey Borton said, “Major Crash detectives are currently investigating the exact circumstances around the collision and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10018295.”
