Police make arrest - Serious harm at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have arrested a youth in relation to a serious harm incident yesterday in Casuarina.

At around 2:15pm, Police received reports that a 14-year-old male had been assaulted near a shopping centre on Trower Road. The offender fled the scene and the victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious condition.

A 16-year-old male was arrested this afternoon by Strike Force Trident detectives. He is expected to be charged with:

  • 1 x intend to cause serious harm

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, "The incident was a sickening attack on a 14-year-old who wasn't expecting to be struck. Strike Force Trident and Serious Crime Detectives worked throughout the night and today to secure valuable evidence and arrest the 16-year-old youth."
