The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested five adults after the alleged theft of a motor vehicle in Nightcliff.
Around 7:30am, Strike Force Trident officers responded to reports of a suspicious motor vehicle.
An additional unit was deployed to assist after the alleged offenders began arguing with each other.
Three adult male offenders were arrested, and while being conveyed to the Palmerston Watch House, engaged in a physical altercation with one another inside the police unit.
The police vehicle stopped and St John Ambulance attended.
One of the males was conveyed to hospital after he suffered an injury to his hand.
He received first aid and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.
A pair of scissors was located after the incident and seized by police.
No further injuries were reported and the two other offenders remain in custody.
