Police make arrests after crime spree across Melbourne

Police have arrested five teens after a crime spree consisting of home invasions, theft of motor vehicles, armed robberies and thefts in Melbourne's south early this morning.

It's alleged the first incident occurred when a group of youths attended a Moralla Street property about 2.25am.

Once inside the Kooyong property a Black BMW X3, with registration ZOG840, and a silver Audi Q3 were stolen.

It's alleged the youths then attended a Letchworth Avenue property about 3.45am armed with golf clubs.

They smashed windows and vehicles at the Brighton East property before fleeing in a red SUV.

The two stolen vehicles continued on to a petrol station on Centre Road, Clayton South about 4am where they filled up with petrol and fled the scene.

Police spotted the stolen Audi and a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle came to a stop on Princes Highway in Pakenham just after 3pm after police deployed stop sticks.

Police arrested five youths, four males and one female aged 13-16, who remain in custody.

The stolen BMW and its occupants remain outstanding.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of the Audi, BMW or red Mazda driving in the Kooyong, Glen Eira, Clayton South, The Basin and Baronia Junction areas on 7 April between 2am and 4.30am.

The investigation remains ongoing.
