Police Make Arrests - Assault In Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested seven female offenders in relation to an assault that occurred in Alice Springs on Friday.

In the late afternoon of 13 February, a group of at least eight females, both youths and adults, approached a 16-year-old female and assaulted her along Nicker Crescent in Gillen.

It is alleged some members of the group were armed with blunt weapons and assaulted the victim repeatedly before forcibly removing her clothes.

Police became aware of the incident after footage circulated online. Investigations commenced and statements were recently provided to police.

This morning, members from Strike Force Viper arrested seven females aged 14, 14, 15, 16, 16, 30 and 32-years-old. They remain in police custody with charges expected to follow.
