Police make arrests over robbery at Cranbrook

A woman and a man are assisting police with their inquiries following an incident in Cranbrook this afternoon.

Police will allege that a man approached a 55-year-old woman the carpark of a Ross River Road medical centre as she returned to her parked vehicle.

The man allegedly assaulted the woman before entering her car, starting it and attempting to drive away.

A female bystander entered the vehicle and prevented it from being driven away before she was allegedly assaulted.

The man fled on foot into local parkland in company with another woman.

They were both apprehended by police a short time later. Investigations are continuing.
