Police make arrests over Unley break-in, South Australia

Two people have been arrested after a car was stolen during a break-in at Unley this week.

About 5.15am on Tuesday 16 August, a house at Unley was broken into and car keys anda Volkswagen station wagon were stolen from the home. Other personal belongings, including jewellery, were also stolen.

The occupants were home at the time, but not confronted by the intruders.

The stolen car was later located abandoned at Croydon Park and seized for forensic examination.

Following investigations, Eastern District Police attended a Mansfield Park home, where they allegedly located some of the property stolen from the break-in.

An 18-year-old Mansfield Park man was arrested last night and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, illegal use and illegal interference. He has not applied for bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

A 17-year-old Elizabeth North girl was also arrested and charged with theft. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on 5 October.

Investigations are continuing to identify and locate any other people involved in the break-in.
