Police Make Arrests - Robbery In Alice Springs 5 January

The Northern Territory Police Force has apprehended eight female youths in relation to a robbery that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday evening.

Around 8:50pm, it is alleged a group of eight female youths attended a restaurant on the corner of Railway Terrace and Parsons Street in the Alice Springs CBD. A number of the youths allegedly jumped the front counter and physically assaulted a staff member before stealing money from the till.

The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the assault.

With assistance from the police drone, members from Operation Ludlow II, Strike Force Viper, Crime, and general duties located and apprehend three 13-year-olds, three 14-year-olds and two 15-year-olds.

Three of the youths are expected to be charged and will appear in court at a later date. The remaining youths will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
