Police make drug arrest at Dernancourt

A man was arrested for drug offences earlier this week.

On Tuesday 28 March 2023 investigators from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch arrested a man alleged to be in possession of a commercial amount of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Police conducted a traffic stop in Dernancourt and located approximately 56 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle. Subsequent searches of the driver's home led to the seizure of approximately half a kilogram of cocaine and half a kilogram of methamphetamine.

A 51-year-old man from Dernancourt was arrested for two counts of trafficking in a commercial amount of a control drug and two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug. The man was refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday 29 March where he was remanded in custody.

Detective Superintendent, Officer in Charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch says" Larger seizures such as this cause significant disruption to individuals and drug trafficking networks while preventing its availability for supply to the community. The Serious and Organised Crime Branch will relentlessly continue efforts to disrupt, disable and dismantle illicit drug enterprises that cause harm to our community"
