Police Officer charged - Northern Region

A police officer will appear at court later this year after being charged with allegedly perverting the course of justice.

In March this year, an investigation was launched into the conduct of a senior constable during a vehicle search on the Central Coast.

Following extensive inquiries, today (Tuesday 20 September 2022) a 43-year-old senior constable was issued with a court attendance notice for the offences of do act with intent to pervert the course of justice and access/modify restricted data held in computer.

The man – attached to a Northern Region command – is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 4 November 2022.

The man's duty status is under review.
