Police probe after child run over in Kyogle

Police are investigating after a child was run over by a car at a property in Kyogle earlier today, NSW Police say.

It was shortly before 3.30pm today, that a 44-year-old man was repairing a car at a property at Hill Street, Kyogle.

Police have been told as the man attempted to ‘roll start’ the vehicle, it rolled backwards over his 19-month-old son.

The man rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived; who took the child to Kyogle Hospital for assessment.

The child was later taken to Lismore Hospital for specialised treatment.

His condition is described as being serious but stable.

Officers from Richmond Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
