Police probe after firearms stolen in Wollongong

Police are investigating after two firearms were allegedly stolen following a break and enter in Wollongong earlier this week, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 6.30am on Monday 6 June 2016, an employee returned to his work place on Pringle Road, Fernhill. Upon arriving, the man noticed the roller door had been forced open.

The man told police a firearm safe, containing two guns and ammunition had been taken, along with a laptop.

The laptop was later located in a paddock at the back of the business.

Officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command arrived and established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A sledgehammer and crowbar were located at the scene and both will undergo forensic examination.
